Alec Dudson is Founder and Editor-in-chief of Intern, a platform for and by the creative youth.

Alec believes that young people are the future and seeks to empower them through publishing, mentorship, teaching and pay. He’s taken that message to events and institutions including London Design Festival, The V&A, IAM, Nicer Tuesdays, LCF, Glasgow School of Art and the National Museum of Albania.

This two hour workshop is designed to offer advise on how to get your work ‘Out There’. Whether you’re a student, recent graduate, junior designer or freelancer, this workshop will help develop skills and offer valuable insight.

The workshop will include:

  • Develop valuable skills and strategies in three key areas.
  • You’ll work on pitching ideas and understand why a succinct and clear method of communicating your ideas is vital.
  • Apply that approach and apply in the context of networking, another crucial aspect of freelance practice.
  • Finish by discussing how to submit your work to publications, competitions and opportunities, ensuring that you leave with useful and applicable principles to apply in your practice.
